TSM 2.0 is in open beta, you can get it here: http://stormspire.net/official-tradeskillmaster-development-forum/11388-tradeskillmaster-2-0-public-beta.html
Disclaimer: Prices may vary from server to server, and I will not give up all of my thresholds, fallbacks etc. to protect the markets on my server, but I will tell you how to edit the fallback and threshold prices.
As this post would have been rather lengthy with all functions of TSM in general, this post will only cover the main parts of TSM, how you craft items faster, how you set TSM up to your liking in terms of items to sell, and what you sell them for, this post will go over parts of the first 3 modules of TSM, and I will post other posts on each of the remaining modules with a few days interval Chronological order naturally.
Please note that any pictures in this post can have changed since the development version number 97, which was used for these pictures. - I will update if there are any big changes to the User Interface
The addon itself can be downloaded from Curse (here) and the TradeSkillMaster website (here) The important modules of the addon is the Core named "TradeSkillMaster", "TradeSkillMaster_Crafting" and "TradeSkillMaster_Auctioning" but I'd recommend getting the three mentioned and the rest of the addons (NOTE: only the addons created by sapu94 on curse)
Also note that hovering the mouse over most areas you can control the addon, will give you a tool tip of the action.
The new TSM 2.0 has more or less the same interface as always:
As always the modules in top, and the usual logo.
Please also note the tabs, these are in most of the other modules too.
I usually like to create a new profile in TSM so I'm not using the default one - This is done under the profiles tab.
You simply type the name you want in the "new" field - which is roughly in the middle and either press enter or the "okay" button that appears, and we're rolling.
Now were going to make some groups. Groups function a little differently that in TSM 1.x, if any of you remember they usually do everything relating the items. This has changed slightly the old "Groups" have been split into Groups and Operations. Groups only control items in 2.0 while Operations control what you do with them, sell, how you craft them, if you mail them to another character or not
One way of creating groups is to open any profession which has changed from the standard interface to the new 2.0 interface on my first launch i was asked if I wanted to have made groups automatically, you can either press yes or no - yes saves some time for professions like in this case inscription where I otherwise have to add all glyphs manually which is rather time consuming on the other hand you have to remove all excess items from your group.
Note: If you weren't asked if you wanted to create the group automatically, you can still do it! The option is under the "TSM Groups" tab, all the way to the bottom
A simple press on the "Create Profession Groups" button will pop the same question I had when i opened the profession for the first time. Pressing ask later, will make it ask again next time you open the profession.
The other way of creating a group is to open TSM again and go into the groups module - this is the 2nd square in the top.
After you created the group you end up in the Operations tab (or the one you desired in the drop down above) - this is where you assign operations, this will be explained later.
In the Items tab, you can see every item in you bags and all you have to do, to create the group is to click every item you want to add to it, and click add. You can both do it with single items or multiple items - no need to hold down the ctrl key! Or you can add them all by typing Glyph (or any other group of items with equal names, inks for example) into the filter field and you have selected them all
Take a break if you like we have now created groups but going to the auction house now will now going to let us post anything. The big new thing is the thing called Operations the 3rd module. I'll give a point if you want to take a break.
Operations!
The operations UI starts in the help tab, this is probably because this a completely new way of doing it, but is rather intuitive, all you have to note is which tab you are in and creating the operation in. It basically states what i just wrote, make sure you are in the right tab! let's start by making an auctioning operation.
See that quite lengthy button in the bottom? I'd advise to use it, control, alt shift, either or all of them I don't care how you use it, just use it. It creates a macro to let you post and cancel by scrolling while holding the selected modifier.
Please note I created an operation to test it, this is the glyphs operation, i will create another one just for you! you can create one by clicking on Operations in the menu to the left and type the name in the name field - and hey we've been over how you accept the name right? Press enter or the "okay" button.
We now get into the General tab of our new Operation, form here you can ignore the operation on specific characters, or a complete faction on a realm. But let's dive into it shall we? Click the post tab.
Okay, if you want to sell stuff, this is the time to read everything...
This is rather clumpy, but you can as with the old the exact same, this is a rather similar design, I believe only the names in the settings in the bottom has changed.
From top to bottom left to right.
How long will this operations auctions last for.
How many stacks will I post of a particular item.
How many will be in a stack of this item.
- The check box will post as many as you have.
How much will the bid on the auction be on - 100% for same price as buyout
How much will I undercut a competitor with
What is the lowest price I will post this item for
What is the absolute maximum (will only undercut here if any other person has the item up for less than this)
What is the normal price for this item, if none is for sale.
If someone posted under your lowest price, what shall I do?
Now lets take a quick look at the crafting Operations, opening the tab will make TSM look something like this.
Most of it is pretty simple, Inventory settings can make you ignore specific characters bags, bank and ah for this crafting operation and ignore guild banks for any guild you are in, say the guild you might be raiding in, they might not like you take their materials for you benefit.
Price deduction will take x% from the buyout to calculate profits, and as stated in the tool tip, 5% will compensate the Faction specific AH cut, while the neutral AH will need 15%.
Price settings can be left or edited, and can require some knowledge to LUA scripting. the first takes the lowest price for materials, whether that be from the market prices on the auction house, crafting, buying it from a vendor or even converting it from something else, using the market prices. other usable commands can be found here
While the craft price is calculated from the minimum buyout from the auction house.
Creating a new is just like creating a new auctioning operation, clicking on Operations in the menu to the left, and typing in the name, pressing enter or the "okay" button.
TSM 1.x users will quickly familiarise themselves with the features in the top of the screen.
Min Restock Quantity will restock this amount at least, say you want to have 10 of each, say glyph, in you inventory, you set the Max Restock Quantity to 10, but you don't want to bother restocking 1 of each glyphs after you have sold 1 of each? set Min restock Quantity to more than 1.
Minimum profit, will not make items that gives you less profit than the set amount, 100g for glyphs will in this case be quite extreme, having 100g profit on a glyphs is not something that happens regularly on my server, but hey! it might work on yours.
Here you can also override the default craft price calculation method mentioned above, say you for this want to have it calculated to be 50% of you average sell prices for whatever reason.
you can type "50% avgSell" this will change the crafting price to half you average sell prices, this of course requires you to have sold the item before.
You have now created your crafting and auctioning Operations, but yet we haven't assigned them to our group... this is simple though.
Lets head into the Groups Module and assign them then, shall we so we can get you started on selling some items.
All you have to do, is go into the desired group and this pops up - please note that I have created some groups since we last looked at the interface and I will tell you about some stuff I noted has changed since 1.x.
For glyphs, which is the operation I just created I can assign it to a specific group or groups if I wish. lets take a look at my glyphs group and see what we have to do, depending on your setup you might have to check the box "Override Module Operations" in the operations you want to add. As you see I haven't added either of my operations yet, so lets add the Auctioning and crafting operations like this.
You can have a quick overlook at what the Operations do under the drop downs with all you Operations for this specific part of the group, Auctioning or crafting.
As you can see glyphs are posted in one stack of one for 12 hours, it is set to cancel undercuts if I do a search for undercuts and to not reset the market when it goes under the minimum. These can all be changed to your liking in the operation itself.
Crafting states that I will restock to a maximum of 3 and at least when I am missing 1 glyph, although it does not show the minimum profit.
The Auction House.
Any users of 1.x who haven't noticed the AH has changed, either haven't been looking or maybe haven't checked it yet, because TSM 2.0 is so different, but the auction house UI has changed!
When you open it, you start in the Shopping tab, persons who have used Auctioneer, Auctionator or have familiarised themselves with the standard UI Auction House know that tabs here, are located at the bottom, and so are the new 2.0 tabs.
The first tab is only for scanning the auction house, and obviously clever users uses the Windows application to automatically get updates form the blizzard auction house api into their auctionDB module. This app can be downloaded here.
The Auctioning tab is where the fun happens!
We start out by seeing all our groups with auctioning operations added, I have these. In the bottom there is 5 buttons, the top two controls what to do with the groups we have, and the bottom three controls what kind of scan you want to make. A post scan will post all items in your bags which are in a group, and check the operation to see if the prices are over your minimum and under you maximum. if they are and there is an item, it will undercut it. if there is no item between the max and minimum price it will post at normal price. If the lowest buyout is under your minimum price, it will not post (unless you set it to something else in the auctioning operation.
Lets click the Start Post Scan and see what happens. After or whilst it is scanning depending on what items you post, you will see a list of the items you can do something with. I also cheated a little and had already posted some glyphs so we could see the info text of that event.
The info text to the right shows us everything we need to see. The things seen here means
- Maximum amount already posted: As I am posting 1 stack of 1, and the lowest buyout for ie. Glyph of Stampeding Roar is posted by me, this item will not be posted.
- Undercutting Competition: Does as it states, Undercuts any competition, the price is higher than you lowest price and less than your highest and someone has the item on the auction house and he will be undercut.
- Cheapest Auction below min. price: Depending on your choice in the Operation, it might not post, post at Lowest, normal or Highest price.
Other info text include a red text telling you that there is something wrong with the prices of your Operation, if you for instance set the lowest price to be higher than the normal price etc.
Please note this photo has names of my character and competitors edited out. |
Anyways posting is easy, either spam click the post button, or use the macro we created earlier to post extremely fast. When it in the button says done posting but still confirming them you can run away from the auction house, I personally get an internal auction house error telling me that something went wrong, and this might not get to post all your items, I only recommend this if you are in a hurry and don't really mind if you only get half your auctions up.
The mailbox
Any old users who haven't checked or noticed it might again look at this page and think, what is he talking about?
But the mailbox UI has changed! No worries it is still really simple.
We see 3 tabs at the bottom like with the auction house, these aren't necessary, TSM_Mailing can do it all.
The 4 tabs in the top can do everything you need. Inbox is where we start, you can press 2 simple buttons here: "Open All" and "Collect Gold" Please note, that "Open All" can be set to leave gold in the mailbox, this is useful if you want to open all gold mails in the evening for instance. (This is done in the Operations Module in the mailing tab)
The TSM Groups tab are used to send mail by the help of operations, this will be shown in another post later.
Quick send tab, is the tab for sending mails to people and is really really simple, I will not go into detail with this.
The other tab, can send greenies to Disenchant to a character of your choice and send all excess gold to another character, like if you want to keep at most 5k gold on a specific character and send the rest to another, type in 5000 and enter the name of the character to send to. A button then appears and pressing this will leave Exactly 5k on that character.
This concludes the quite big TSM 2.0 post. please leave any questions in the comments and I will answer them as soon as I get the time to do so.
